Megan Aronson is a spokeswoman, changemaker, author, and blogger. She is one of ten people in the U.S. who serves on the Advocates for Recovery (OpioidRecovery.org) Survivor’s Council, a 501 (c) 4 non-profit organization created by Newt Gingrich, former Congressman Patrick Kennedy, and civil rights activist, Van Jones, to combat the current drug overdose epidemic. Megan also serves as an Addiction Recovery Ambassador and member of Yavapai County’s Substance Abuse Coalition, MATFORCE. As a member of their Speaker’s Bureau she shares the RISE AGAIN story with addicts, their families, and teen drug offenders. She also serves on the Verde Valley Steering Committee Task Force to address substance abuse.
As the author of the forthcoming memoir, RISE AGAIN, Megan has shared her story on the Our Voices radio show on 90.3 WKAH in New York, on the Voices for Change 2.0 podcast, on VoyagePhoenix.com and DivorceForce.com, through numerous speaking engagements, on the Rise Again blog, and on Twitter, where she has over 15,000 followers.
Megan’s 9-minute talk, “I Don’t Need Help” from Sedona’s This Is My Brave has been viewed thousands of times on Facebook and led to an invitation to open the 3rd Annual Verde Valley Mental Health Summit at Cliff Castle Casino.
Megan is a Contributing Author for DivorceForce.com, and for websites YourTribute.com and OpenToHope.com. She’s known as the former host of “Out & About with Megan” on Channel 16 in Sedona, AZ. She has also appeared on AZTV’s AM Arizona several times promoting Sedona, AZ and her writing.
Megan has worked in public relations, marketing, advertising and sales, promoting local businesses through ad campaigns, press releases, and social media.
Megan lives just outside the idyllic red rocks of Sedona, AZ with her husband, Kory, and four children. After battling a rare seizure disorder for over two years while writing her forthcoming memoir, RISE AGAIN, she is now seizure-free and fully recovered. She enjoys hiking, biking, devouring books like food, and connecting with 16,000 amazing people on the #RiseAgain journey with her on Twitter.
